Ukiyo-e printmaker. Little known about his life. A commoner, without a family name, was probably allowed to use his master’s name, as he was quite an important pupil of Hosoda Eishi. Worked as a book illustrator until 1823. In single sheets, excelled in delicately drawn okubi-e of young girls: the "pin-ups" of the Yoshiwara.
