PRINTING PROCESS

  1. A print from the "key" block was made. The key block is usually printed in black, but this work uses a dark blue colour (indigo).
  2. A print in light brown traced the boats among the waves.
  3. A print in pale pink coloured the upper part of the sky.
  4. A print in light shades of grey with gradation (bokashi) accentuated the horizon line in the background and set off a boat in the foreground.
  5. A print in darker shades of grey with gradation (bokashi) emphasised Mount Fuji in the distance.
  6. A print in blue highlighted the waves.A print in dark blue (indigo) added depth to the waves in the picture.
